Key Progress Indicators
- High occupancy in the Forge: Since the exterior construction of The Forge was completed in late 2024, tenant recruitment efforts have led to four approved tenant leases, achieving 68% capacity ahead of schedule.
- Talent pipeline and retention: Partnerships between IU Innovates and The Mill led to the expansion of the Startup Summer program, doubling the number of participating collegiate founders. This program has already yielded success, with one team (including three out-of-state members) opting to stay in Bloomington and grow their company in the Trades District. IU also launched the "Coming Home" series with a pilot program in Washington, D.C. to proactively connect with alumni in target industries and encourage talented professionals to return to Indiana.
- Capacity expansion: Final designs are complete for The Mill's interior expansion, which will significantly increase capacity by adding 34 new workstations and three private offices to support growing startups and entrepreneurs.
